Long story short...

Friend checked my compression by hand cranking the motor. The faster he cranked, the higher the compression in that cylinder.

In a motor built for turbo, should the compression be dropped to 8.5:1 in order to run say 75 nos on top of say 17lbs of boost?

even if the block was sleeved? Also, will the trany be able to put say 350-400whp? Or should i look into an h23 trany?

It doesnt have so much to do with the sleeves as it does with the pistons. You'll melt the piston before you melt/damage the sleeve. I'd consider getting new synchros and maybe an LSD if you plan on putting down that much hp/tq.

since no LSD is available for the f23, should i go for an h23 trans? If i should then what about the shorter gear ratios?

would it be a good idea to go for an h23 trans?

One of my good friends who owns an up and coming tuning/performance shop in Charleston has informed me that the Quaife H22 LSD DOES WORK in the F23 tranny. The differential bearings between the two trannys even share the same part number.

There is a guy on H-T.com who just finished a boosted H22 setup in his 6th Gen sedan, claiming that he used an F23 trans with Quaife LSD. I called the builder to confirm this, and IT IS TRUE! My buddy installed it himself. :eekwtf:

EDIT:

Convo I had with him...

(2:21 PM 9/30/2008) AFAccord: Hey Anthony, I was looking over the thread of the 450hp H22 Accord you recently finished up, and there are a lot of questions about the trans setup coming from the Accord community. Are you familiar with his setup?

(3:57 PM 9/30/2008) Anthony: Yea... wha't sup?

(4:10 PM 9/30/2008) AFAccord: The word is that he's using an F23 tranny with a quaife LSD? Supposedly quaife doesn't support the F-series transmissions, only H-series. So what's the deal? Did he swap FD's or entire gear stacks or something?

(7:22 PM 9/30/2008) Anthony: The lsd is the same as the h22.

(7:26 PM 9/30/2008) AFAccord: So the quaife H22 lsd fits right into the F23 tranny with no problems, contrary to what quaife claims?? lol

(7:34 PM 9/30/2008) Anthony: Yes. Cross reference the differential bearings... same measurements.

Accord Differential

(7:35 PM 9/30/2008) Anthony: If you need one, we have 1 h22 quaife unit left here in stock.

(9:33 PM 9/30/2008) AFAccord: Ah, so it's the bearings that determine whether it will work? Do you guys install the differentials there in shop? What's the price without labor?

(10:11 AM 10/1/2008) Anthony: Yes we install them. The quaife unit is $895 and labor is $300 plus the cost of bearings.
