inside lense cleaning?

if you look in this photo, you will see a smudge that has killed me for over a year. and yet, i have no idea how it came to be

but it is not on the out side of the lense, but appears to be on the inside

now, my camera is a powershot a540 and i have the manual for it, but i can't seem to open up the actual lense part.

Can i open it up and clean it or am i out of luck and need to buy a new camera?

there might be a diy out there to take it apart (check out diys for infrared or intervalometer conversions)...

PnS cameras are not easy to take apart and get back together...

So you've had the camera apart already? Have you tried using a Giottos rocket blower to try and force it off the elns without disassembly?

took most of it apart, but didn't want to go much further since i still use this camera and don't want to ****ed it up just yet

i used compressed air to no avail finch

has the lens been off the camera? you should be able to look through it and see a spot...

no, i couldnt seperate the lenses off of the mechanical body.

i am giving up on it tonight
