all you nerds out there, i need thy help

ive got a laptop with an toshiba internal dvd-r/-rw. it was manufactured Nov 2003. it came installed from the manufacture.

the problem: i can play DVD's, CD's, and discs that i burned before. but now i cant read blank discs. i place it in the tray, close it, and i hear it spin then stop. spin, stop, spin stop.... and it doesnt stop. it doesnt read it.

any help guys? iono what to do?

you could try and update the firmware on it, but it sounds like a hardware issue. electronics dont last forever :sad:

see, i burned like 5 disc in a row and i put the next one in and it didnt work. im such a noob when it comes to hardware

could be bad blank discs? try with diff brand of blank cdrs

Update or reinstall the drivers....prior to the writing not working did you restore, upgrade the OS, or reformat the computer?
