Hey guys, just curious how many of you f23a1 owners have changed theirs?
My car died on the freeway last month, so i did all the ignition maintenance (cap, rotor, plugs, wires and checked main relay) except the coil itself. it worked for a couple weeks till it died again. I replaced the coil and now its all good. btw it was at 160k miles.
let me know if yours died too :driving:

I changed mine at 190k. The business end of the coil was burnt and mushroomed over.

I worked at a napa store at the time and replaced it with an echlin coil. After 10k miles I had some ignition issues. I converted a hitatchi dist cap to take an msd blaster2. It was totally unnecessary and no better than oem. I just wanted to do it. But all my Problems did go away.

So in short, i recommend you replace it with an oem coil if you replace it

I've got 245k on my original one, and everything appears to function as normal as it ever did. I'm the only owner and have done all of the maintenance.
