I really love it though, I might in a couple weeks. I'm guessing it only worked in the drive modes and wasn't manually shiftable?

Yes it is just for looks and the feel. The manual shift will not work.

So d5 doesn't work either? Can you swap out the shifter for one without the type-s logo?

Actually d5 is where your d4 would be and the knob is interchangeable with other honda/ acura knobs.
