What is cheap way to make your car as quiet as much as possible?

Mass loaded vinyl and closed cell foam sheets. The only way to do it right, but not cheap.

or just buy a newer one...my '11 with 235s on 18" wheels is quieter than the 98 with 15s.

Do what I did. Gut the interior, scrape off all the sound deadening, remove cat and mufflers, then throw on some sticky tires.

Frost King from Home Depot works, I applied it to my entire trunk, and then covered it with carpet padding and Polyfill before putting panels and factory carpet back in. It helped a bunch of vibrations and made the noise from my exhaust much more bearable.

You can also check your window seals cause I used to get a fair amount of wind noise

Definitely looking into this as well, for the price it's worth a shot.

My biggest gripe is that my speakers are too powerful for the car, and the rear deck and door panels buzz and rattle if I turn it up too much. The road noise I can tolerate, but the rattling drives me nuts.

In a pinch, I've used duct tape to silence minor rattles coming from the mount to the radio, and the door handles. Basically just made it into a washer/gasket between the screws.

What is cheap way to make your car as quiet as much as possible?
