Cheer up, it's not depressing, that is car ownership right there for you at it's finest and that will never change in our life time because that is just how it goes.
Just know that when it is all said and done that you will have a car that will take you reliably from point A to point B and just sip a little bit of gas between the two while keeping you cool , warm and dry.
When it is all fixed , you will feel accomplished and probably come out of the situation knowing more then you did before about cars then and that is worth it's weight in gold right there.
Life is movement, so long as you are moving, you are living life and the experiences it has to give, good and bad, it's all part of the same thing we are all here to ride so to speak.
