Just to keep everyone updated... I broke down and ordered the entire spool assy from Honda...at around 96 bucks it should resolve any issues with the plunger, pressure switch or solenoid.

On a side note.. I'm really unsure how the car was kept before I picked it up with 145k, but I can tell you at some point someone wasn't changing the oil as they should. It has a heavy amount of varnish and some light light sludge under the valve cover. I put a 1/3 can of seafoam in it and will post the results here for everyone to see. I cleaned the vtec sol screen before I added the seafoam so I'm curious to see whats caught in there right now. I will also cut open the Pureone 14459 oil filer thats on it now that has ~5,000 miles on it. I'm curious to see what kinda gunk is knocked loose by the Seafoam treatment.

My guess is new oil, new filter, and a entire new vtec valve assy from Honda should fix this...if not...its wiring...and at that point I'm gonna take it to a shop.
