Hi all, I have read the amazing resources here and have finally decided to get a TL sway bar installed on my 2000 v6 sedan. I do have a few quick questions though after reading through the threads.

1) I understand that I need to get either the 2003 TL-S 19mm bar or the 2004+ manual TL bar right?

2) The car has been in michigan for almost a year to I can say goodbye to the end nuts and I would need all new nuts?

3) I am totally inexperienced with any of this and don't feel comfortable working in this myself. Should I just call up a local Acura dealer and ask them to replace the sway bar?

Thank You.

If I remember correctly, the TL-S bar is 21mm. Installation of the bar is pretty straight forward, but I would suggest replacing the endlinks and hardware when you do it. There is a good chance if your undercarriage is rusty, you may have to cut the endlinks.

If you don't feel comfortable doing it, you could have a shop do it, but be prepared for them to say, "It won't fit" yada yada. If you have a friend who is mechanically inclind, I would have them help you. The Acura dealer is probably going to charge you between $85-$95/hr for labor.

I agree with Justin. Acura dealer = bad idea. Have a friend help you.

You will probably need to replace the swaybar linkages. I recommend buying Moog Chassis Components swaybar linkages, they are available at a local O'Reilly's for $25 each. They are a little pricey, but trust me, they are solid in construction and totally worth it.

(The following is a copy/paste from a message I sent to another fellow 6GA owner):

I ordered all the parts from oemacuraparts.com. They still seem to be have the best prices.

1) Rear Sway Bar Stuff (from 04-07 TL Manual):

In a nutshell, just follow this guy:

***Make sure you order the MANUAL parts. The manual rear sway bar is the one that is 20mm. The auto is smaller.***

So, I would say install it yourself. Initially I didn't know about doing any car work besides basic maintenance. This was my first mod and took about 15-20 minutes. Very straightforward. Note that I didn't have to change my endlinks so you may look further into that.

G'luck.

So I was quoted an outrageous $233 from the Acura dealer. lol.

I have decided to get the parts first and decide if I want to bring it to a small shop or do it as a weekend project with a friend.

Here are the parts I need.

52300-SEP-A11 SPRING, RR. STABILIZER 1 $32.72 $32.72
52306-SEP-A11 BUSH, RR. STABILIZER HOLDER (20MM) 2 $1.10 $2.20 <-- what is this?
52308-S3M-A00 HOLDER, STABILIZER BUSH 2 $0.84 $1.68
And new endlinks from Honda or will the Acuras one fit?

So basically that's it right?

Thanks again.

I paid $80.00 at Strauss Auto for the installation of my CT rear sway bar and both stabilizers links ( Honda OEM parts) for my 2002 EX-V6 Sedan.

Get the endlinks for your Accords, they're just like two solidly connected ball joints and will accommodate any difference between the bars.

For the record, Moog makes good replacement OE parts and does sponsor some race cars, but I do no believe they're a racing company. Anywho, I got OEM Honda endlinks from the dealer for $110. Sorry to get of topic, but my point was, they ARE both solid steel, people who had to cut them know from experience :D

I am so confused with all of the parts mentioned here. Should I replace the entire endl links or just the bolts? If I have to replace the entire endlinks, it would cost about $80 as finch mentioned? Anyone near Ann Arbor wants to give me a hand with this?
