Diy: Cold Cathode rear L plate

this is something i did while the site was down lol. The kit i used was from svc.com. took 1 day shipping only and fair prices. anyway onto the pics. enjoy

plug in comp to test power

cut until u have black and red wire only

disconnect this. its right behind the bulb cover

harness should look like this when u unclip everything and unplug

cut black/red

splice power to orange and black to black and tape it up after

plug neg batt back on and test power

clean mounting surface with w/e u want

now mount the tubes and try to pull the wires back in. put the plate back on after u mounted tubes carefully

i just mounted the inverter there. the inverter powers the tubes

i did the same thing but i did not splice the wires. looks good though. what are you going to use the rest of the tubes?

Bit OT but does anyone know what the weight behind the grey cover (centre back of the bootlid) is for??

Oh, Lemon, have you thought of drilling 2 holes to run the wires through the original lamp then just running silicone around the wires to seal it and avoid moisture.

I wonder if you could have got an empty socket
(at the bottom of this page for .29 cents)

and fitted your cathodes wires into it and just put it in the stock 194 socket with out splicing the cars wires.

Yea there was a kit for it lol...but good job tackling it by yourself.

Now about those grounding kits.... lol (idk if u got my msg on v6p)
