Re: Projekt G23

I don't see the point of building for high hp with high compression and limiting you knock limit with 91 octane. No 93 in cali. Yes you can do it but I like to get the most potential out of my motors.

Either way the build is looking good. Keep up the hard work.

I did have the same concern when I was choosing the pistons and you are right that I can't ever get the most potential out of this setup with 91 octane. Being my first build I just wanted to see if during certain days with 110 octane and different ecm map how much difference would it make. Sheer curiosity.

Re: Projekt G23

Well I just hit another snag. The stock rods with bushing have a smaller bore than the 22 mm (0.866 in) pin size that came with the wiseco pistons. Forums search did reveal the difference between stock and aftermarket pistons. Wish somebody had noted it in g23 build thread. Recommend way is to get them rebored at the machine shop or buy bisimoto, crower rods for f23. Called bisimoto, 4 Weeks, made to order. Settled with crower rods from raceeng. $805.

Cylinder Head is off. So is front radiator support, Can walk into the engine bay. Wanna take a stroll baby?

Beautiful looking internals on that head!

It'll make a good purchase for someone out there.

Can't really say the same for the block :lawl:

That's lot of carbon deposits. Lol, I guess I had carbon deposit high compression advantage.
Look's like some one is guilty of running water/ incorrect coolant ratio mixture.

Separated engine and transmission.

Cheesy safety bypass, straps from harbor freight instead of chains.

20121006225735.jpg

$99 Engine hoist(cherry picker) from harbor freight. Took more time to assemble than to pulling the engine out.

Time to keep the cylinder head on the side.
