The spring is hitting the top of the wheel well, still in the perch for the strut, its not bolted on top, so its uncompressed. Its putting force against the body of the car and pushing downward on the perch. The perch is attached to the strut which is transfering pressure through the fork to the Axel.

The pressure is going like this

Top ------------------------ Bottom (fork)
<---------------------------------------->

Please don't cut it. The front springs are pretty long if I remember correctly. Renting a spring compressor tomorrow is your only choice. Autozone should have one.

like John said, spring compressor is your only hope. I understand what you're saying happened and that is the only way I see you fixing this.

I second the sleeping on it notion too. I always seem to contemplate possible solutions when I just take a break. lol

I would've had the spring compressor handy in the first place. And this is exactly why I'm leaving this sort of thing to professional, lol. I could probably do the work but if **** goes wrong, I'd be clueless.

Good luck man. Hopefully you get er done.

Good Morning, Evan.

Hope you had a good night's rest.

Take a look at things again, get a spring compressor and have it.

Keep us posted on how successful you were after some sleep.

Thanks,
I'm glad I had this forum of people to convince me to go to bed, I needed to.
I'm going to take a taxi down to Autozone and pick up some compressors at 9:30.

We'll see how it goes from there, my back hurts, probably from trying to pull at weird angles on the spring and strut last night whilst raging. Smart.
