I have some rims im waiting to put on my car their 5zigen 17x7.5 +43 offset. They currently have 215/45/17 but i was wanting to go with a 50 or 55 sidewall.

Arizona has some rough roads and some potholes..

Most ppl on 6GA go with 40 or 45 series regardless of their tire/wheel size.

This really depends on one's preference, but anything thinner than 40 series would be a little uncomfortable on the road. Anything thicker than 50 series wouldn't look so sharp imo.

With that said, for the look, I'd go w/ 40 or 45. For the functionality, I'd go w/ either 45 or 50. (50, if you are really concerned about rough roads, but it also depends on your suspension settings, too.)

BTW, I have 17x7.5 +42 w/ 215/50/17, and I have no big complaints. But sometimes I wish my tires were 45's tho, wanting to be a little less meaty. ← (That's if I didn't care about the big speedo error & didn't care about having more gap between fenders by going w/ 45's.)

if you're getting new tires, go with 235/45/17 if you want to keep your speedometer accurate. If you don't want a tire that thick, you can go with 225/45/17.

Sry, not intending to be anal, but even if you see his avatar's is 4 lugs, how do you know his OEM tire size?

DX P195/70R14
LX, EX 4Cyl P195/65R15
LX, EX v6 P205/65R15
EX v6 Coupes P206/60/16

Or, you mean 235/45/17 in general?

Me saying about speedo error previously was just my V6 spec I chose from 60 to 50 vs. 45.

So want you want up front but keep your old rims and take the tires off. That's how you drift!

Iirc, 215/45/17 is recommended

You'll have a hard time finding potholes on pavement as bad as I found on gravel.
