im new and have a 2000 v6 ex with tranny problems. it shifts really hard and revs really high. been told it might be just a sensor but also been told there are recalls on this year tranny. been thinking of switching to a 6 speed instead of auto but have no clue if thats crazy or around the same price as a rebuild. any help here?

best bet would probably be 6 speed, just because you probably wont have to rebuild it in the future, depending on how long you intend on keeping it. there are a lot of threads here that outline the 6 speed swap, and problems and pieces you'll need. plus you get the benefit of 6 speed, and more power from it rather than the auto-4

Yea man, there are a bunch of people that have swapped manual 6 speeds from the 7th gen Accords, Acura CL's and TL's. If you type in "6 speed swaps" into the search button up at the top of the forum it will bring up a lot of threads about it. It is a lot of work and can cost anywhere from 3-7,000 dollars. Hope this helps.

^And she had to replace a lot of other suspension parts that were beyond saving.

I'd say the swaps range from $3k to $5k. Course it depends on where you get parts from, who does the labor, etc etc.

OP, I'd start by searching the site first. Then come back with some more specific questions. Sorry about your tranny, but you do have options.
