thx guys ^ same here i can't afford a cl-s tranny and with me needing my car to commute everyday i think i can be fine with an accord tranny for now....

the biggest problem right now is finding money my parents seem iffy about letting me borrow so i'm looking at my other options,

as far as mechanics go i'm leaning towards letting chieu do it (same guy who did nicks engine/tranny swap) vs me doing it myself, not because i don't know how but i never worked on trannys with accords.......

but like i said i'll keep you guys updated and any more info please post up or pm me thanks guys! feels good to have some support

Ah ok thats reasonable for the LSD. The best price I could find for one was 1200... on the east coast, plus I didn't have the money to do the swap in the first place... or I would have gone with it. Good luck with your swap, it will be something you won't regret!

Yea and it comes with some other things too. The mechanic is talking to this one guy who is selling his cl for someone to do a cl engine and tranny swap for our accords. He is trying to get the guy to just part with all the parts that are needed for the swap.

Sorry to the OP for hijacking your thread!

Good luck with your swap!

Come on man... I told you car-part.com and call all of them, and have them call their friends, and make sure you get all the parts from the crashed car that you can. These are just the cheap ones! If you go up a little higher you can get ones from newer cars. Lower mileage = better of course.

Just keep checking that site every day, and calling everyone who you think has a good price... it took me about 3 days to lock down the one I wanted.

quick update

well through sean he was able to find me one for 800 and locally too! now i just gotta wait til the guy gets back from vacation and hopefully i'll pick it up

@hunter yeah i know it usually would take awhile but i don't have another car to drive around so i'm kinda rushing it, luckily for me i'm just carpooling for now

p.s most likely i'm gonna let chieu do the swap for me since he has experience with this

Yep I was in a rush too, finals were coming up rapidly haha and I needed a way to get to class.

800 is a good deal, just make sure you get the tranny, flywheel, linkages/cables, and shifter if possible. If you get a different shifter you'll have to mod the tranny a little to get it to work right. The 6th gen 5 spd pedals will work though. Also forgot to tell you, with a 7th gen shifter the bolt holes won't line up quite right so he'll have to mod it a little there. I assume if he does a lot of swaps he can handle that. Make sure he puts a spacer behind the clutch though, or supposedly it'll have trouble staying in gear... or something like that lol. It's all in that post I showed you. I'm excited for you. We'll have to have a little 7th gen tranny meet ;)

Also if you have a little extra cash I would get the comptech short shifter while you're at it. Just changed it on my car, and I really wish that had just been done while it was all being put in haha. Not that you can't do it later, it's not all that difficult. Just frustrating...
