Power Steering Pump

I need to get a new power steering pump. The best price I can get on oem through checking both of my hookups with wholesale oem parts, is $300 for reman.
Tas Auto is wanting $323.96 for a reman pump before shipping.

The A-1 Cardone pump is saying the most popular, I looked up some reviews and they're naturally mixed.

I just want to see if anyone here has had any good/bad luck with these aftermarket reman pumps.

I foresee a failure in response....'cause i have -NEVER- replaced one, on an Accord. So I have no idea if they fail.

It's just making a bad noise like a bearing about to fail, really loud when it's cold out.

Oh well, just replace (obv) then make sure belt tension is set correctly. V6 has a spring tensioner, but I4 you set it with a bolt (IIRC), excessive tension can cause bad seals or bearings. Insufficient, well, it don't work.

Yeah the oem is a reman and double an aftermarket reman. So I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it.
The car has 225k so I'm not surprised.

Of the aftermarket stuff, I'd go with the AC Delco one. AC Delco makes the best quality aftermarket stuff, IMO.

^+1, ac delco usually has really good quality parts. I believe they're even an OE parts supplier for GM

If you're into it, maybe you could get away with rebuilding it and replacing bearings?

Otherwise, I replaced a PS pump on a 4 cyl 2 years ago with a reman duralast pump for $99.99 from Autozone. Great pump. No complaints. If I had to do it again, my plan of attack would be attempt a rebuild, and then if it came down to it, go AC Delco or Duralast.
