I have the F23A5 motor on the DX and VP accords which doesnt have Vtec. i fund a guy selling this locally. what all do i need, if at all possible to gain vtec? just the head and a vtec ECU? anything else?

Probably, most likely, need an f23a1 ecu and as you mention wire and tab connection for vtec.

so the only other thing i need is the f23a1 ecu in addition to the head the guy is selling? do i need a wiring harness or anything like that? i looked for a write up or any info about this but couldnt find anything. ive never done any motor work at all other than cleaning my IACV. any info would be greatly appreciated

I thought the cams were different in a VTEC motor than in a non-Vtec motor

OP you might need a dizzy from a too, and wiring the vtec isn't as difficult as it sounds

The head is complete with the cam
