I put four 58lb. bags of garden soil in the trunk yesterday (232lbs) and drove off. Something was rubbing maybe the tire on the inner fender I dont know. It didn't look terribly low in the rear. Dissapointed, I put two bags up in the passenger seat and hoped one wouldn't rip. So how much weight is allowed back there? Are my springs just total crap and need new ones? The trunk space we have in these is quite large so one would think 230 pounds should be no problem. I guess I'll have to limit my kidnapping victims to the petite builds. Dang.

Are you lowered already are something? What are your rims size and tyre size?

I drove almost 1 000 km loaded to the top, including a Prelude gearbox, suspension, and lot of heavy stuff and the car was almost down to the floor, and it wasn't rubbing the tyres.

Everything is stock. That's why I was confused by the lack of payload capability.

Maybe that's the problem, your springs and shocks are getting old, maybe some bushings too;
