Re: Official 6GA DIY Master List

Question about the valve cover gasket install... it doesn't say which way to install the spark plug hole gaskets.
I searched "Valve Cover removal and install + Valve cover gasket change I couldn't find anything...

I painted up mine and think i installed them upside down.. upon installation they all ripped, I really didn't think to lube the 'lips' of the oil seal, I'm not sure.. Anybody know?
They we installed with the face of the seal towards the inside of the valve cover.

Also I found knocking them out through the cover with a big long screwdriver and hammer worked magic. 2 knocks each. i taped a napkin to the head of the screwdriver as to not damage anything.. thought it was strange that wasn't in.

Any input..? Thought I'd throw this question in the most appropriate forum

Can we add RedRyder's thread about the coupe brake light/turn signal switch?

lol what? theyre circles dude, just put them on and go haha. they can only go on one way, but theres nothing that i noticed that suggest they go on in an exact position.

youre never guaranteed no fogging. it could happened tomorrow or years later. mine didnt fog the first time i did them, then a year later they started. just dont put too much extra sealant in, if you use any at all. i didnt use any extra sealant until like the third time i opened mine, and even then it was just a couple dabs of clear silicon on a spot or two i thought looked like it could use some extra. theres plenty of oem sealant to get the job done, just make sure its a little heated up before you start to put it back together and youll be good.

Thank you very much. I am waiting for the paint to dry at the moment. I wont be using any extra sealant today. And i probably wont be opening them up ever again so i hope the OEM sealant will last till I get enough money to buy TYC projectors.
