I'm going to use this as sort of a diary for everything I do to to this car.
I picked it up from the original owner about a month ago. A garage kept, 2000 Accord EX 5-speed. I currently own five Hondas. Two Del Sols, a 95 Coupe, a 99 Coupe and now the Accord as well. I've owned a plethora of Hondas...
Here's the list as best as I can remember..and it really feels like I'm forgetting one or two.
1990 CRX HF
1982 *Accord*4-Door*(drove for two weeks and sold to a friend between CRX and Del Sol)
1994 Del Sol Si (stolen)
1994 Civic DX Coupe (stolen)
1993 Del Sol S
1991 Prelude Si
1993 Del Sol Si
1988 Prelude Si 4WS
1989 Wagovan / Shuttle
1999 Civic EX Coupe
1995 Civic DX Coupe
I don't plan on boosting this thing or any serious mods...Yet. Maybe after my Del Sol is finished, I'll consider a new F23 rebuild or low mileage motor and a little boost. Right now, this is going to be the reliable daily. My main plans are to fix all the scratches, dings, dents and blemishes, lower it just a little with a nice, adjustable coilover / shock set, Find some nice, five spoke type wheels, some spacers and go a little wider. Then rock some fender flares if I need to. I need to detail the crap out of the engine bay..and then run a basic intake / header / exhaust setup...with a high end muffler.
So basically, the plan is -
Restore it aesthetically to it's original glory and beyond
Obsessively keep the engine in top shape
Minor “performance” upgrades
It's not a lot of serious wrenching, fabricating or stress inducing work. I've done so many engine swaps, auto to manual swaps, etc. that this is pure fun and enjoyment.
This is how I picked it up. I need to post a pic of the the passenger side with the deep, softball sized dent in the door. With patience and work, I think I can pull it without repainting.
I'll be posting pics in a few days with updates since the weather is getting warmer.
