Yeah. Surface mount tech is great and all, but it doesn't project. It makes enough light in the immediate area, but won't do much. I'd go with a yellow 9005 filament bulb myself.

so it wont reflect off the housing?

unless youre willing to pony up $1k and get an LED lightbar that's 4 feet wide, they'll never be bright enough to drive with.

But, instead of looking like a colored running light, or a second low beam, won't it look like a little led in a housing?

Does that make sense?

Then you just have to the drl DIY & put whatever bulb in there, and you're done.

So are you going to do it? lolz I'd like to know the outcome of that as well?

Yeah I ordered yellow LED highbeams, yellow LED H1 fogs, amber LED front turning signals, red LED rear turning signals. I'll post a full video on them, cause I love watching LED turning signals blink :) lol.
