clearcoat on rims peeling?

so, i stopped at the gas station this morning, had a slight smudge on the inside of the lip. licked my finger, rubbed it, and the clear started flaking off like tape.
i dare to say theyre even 6 months old. im the 3rd owner, first, 2 months. 2nd, month an a half - swollen_cu. never been curbed. ever.

what do i do?

True sportmax/xxr are cheaper rims.

But get em recleared professionally and you should be good to go!

how often do you wash the car/rims? brake dust can kill the clearcoat pretty quickly...

i got mine freshly refinished before the end of the winter, and the clear-coat peeled off like tape as well

i wash my rims pretty often, luckily there is a lifetime warranty on the work, and ill get it re-done when i put on the winters

you can attempt to do it yourself, if you're handy, or just take it to a refinishing place to have it sanded/clear coat applied

its not that big of a job so they wouldn't charge you a lot i think

pretty often. even if i dont wash the car, i try to keep the wheels clean.
and i could understand brakedust, but its one of my rear wheels. not the front... :/
shop estimated $125 a wheel professionally.

i need a brake job, an alignment, and i want oem fogs/front lip.
will it be bad on the rim if i dont get it refinished asap?

it will probly just continue too peal ... alumin isnt real bad about pitting so it shld b fine for a lil while i wld get it done asap

^ yea id find some place else... if i was home and u was in houston id do all of them for 200...maybe even new paint sceme..its wat i do... small stuff on side after work
