Oil change is easy and u shouldn't do a tranny fluid change is what I have read is there something is wrong with ur tranny or fluid?

You can change it just don't flush it.

I'm from NY too (the bronx to be more specific). I own a coupe though.

I'd be down for a NYC meetup, there's a lot of nice accords in NY.
