yeah I def needs some wheels in the future. I was actually leading towards some Mavic ksyrium SLRs. I may see if a friend of mine will let me borrow his just to see how I like them on the bike and if the weight difference is noticeable.

I just don't like to service Mavic products, all their spokes and bearings are proprietary and you can only order them in bulk...

Edit: you should also look at Shimano wheels, they kick ***. Their tubeless Ultegra and Dura Ace c-24's are seriously rad, plus you get spectacular hubs and light weight.

Well I rode in my first Metric Century today. It started out really wet, so I saw a few wrecks happen. I felt great till about mile 45-50 or so when the hills hit.

Poor poor new bike

I felt bad having a dirty new bike, so I came home showered/ ate some dinner and went straight to cleaning it haha.

Looks good Eric! I sometimes wish I had a road bike, but most of the time I'm happy with just a mountain bike.

Thanks. Yeah I was really hoping to ride tons but work and weather has ruined my chances of riding. I am lucky if I get 2 good rides in a week. I was only able to get in 12 miles on my day off and I had to practically sprint during that whole ride just to be able to get that many in because of time constraints. Sucks

I might be able to ride once this week.

So I will be in Florida next week on vacation. It looks like I may have to drive my 4Runner there because my sisters do not want to take their better gas mileage cars....

That being said, should I take my road bike? I have never been on a bike in Florida so I am unsure if it would be worth it. I figured it might be a tad windy, but would be extremely flat. I will also take my older bike if I take one just because of the sand/salt. thoughts?

It felt nice breaking my bike out again and riding. Haven't logged that many miles yet, but we're working up to it.

Eric, take your bike and when you get there, swing by a local bike shop and ask them about good rides. They'd love to show you some.
