Yeah, but you still need to seal it up, or it'll rust almost as fast as the car you're currently driving.
Yes, Connie does have rust on it's rust (LF fender). Mine has some of that too, but my Geo definitely does have it.:henry:

I was talking with a friend a couple of days ago, and did some quick numbers in my head. I've owned over 35 vehicles since I've had my license. I've had everything from a 68 Pontiac Le Mans Tempest, to a 99 Accord (newest car I bought) and a bunch in between. Can't forget about all the trucks I've owned as well, as there were quite a few of them over the last 15 years. Hell, my 97 S-10 was 1 of the few I hung onto for 9 years. Must have been that 4.3 X engine. Well that and I went cross country in it quite a few times hauling back parts and cars. :)

9 years is a long time....longest I've owned a car is the Merkur; almost 8 years now but it's only seen a few thousand km in all that time. Longest I've consistently driven something would be Connie at just shy of five years of ownership; been driving her about 4 and a half. I've probably owned between 20 and 30 cars in my lifetime, too....maybe more....these are the ones I remember having on the road...I've only had my license for 15 years so far. There are almost certainly some I've left out or forgotten.

1991 Pontiac Firefly Coupe 1.0L
1989 Lincoln LSC 5.0L
1989 Chevy Sprint Sedan 1.0L
1989 Mazda RX7 Non-Turbo
1995 Chevy Lumina 3.4L
1999 Chrysler Intrepid 2.7L
2003 Chevy Impala 3.4L
2000 Hyundai Accent 1.5L Auto
1981 Chevy Malibu with a 2-barrel on an old 267 V8 (miss driving that thing, it was like driving a train with a couch in it. Awesome snow drifter, too)
1992 Eagle Talon 2WD with an Evo 3 Turbo (the non-turbo transmission did not take kindly to the turbo, lol)
1996 Chrysler Intrepid 3.5L Tiptronic
1999 Chrysler Sebring 2.7L V6
2000 Hyundai Accent 1.5L 5 speed manual
1992 Honda Accord LX 2.2L Automatic
1987 Merkur XR4Ti with 3-Speed Automatic (same as the 70s Pinto transmissions! No overdrive lol)
2002 Honda Civic Coupe 1.7L SO SLOW!
1987 Merkur XR4Ti with 5-Speed Manual (Still have this one)
1988 Mazda RX7 Turbo JDM Right Hand Drive car (still have this one, too)
2002 Honda Accord Coupe with JDM J30A (Connie)
2000 Honda Accord Coupe with J30A1 (Midnight)

I'm sure it's over 50 with all the parts cars I've had, too.

Yeah, and I'm an old geezer too, and used to only drive rear wheel drive cars and trucks. It wasn't until 1991 that I started driving FWD cars (mainly in the winter), that I started slowly moving away from RWD, and I still have a few here on the property.
That 97 S-10 I had for 9 years and put 25K miles and it never saw a winter. It was a clean Oklahoma truck. But yes, I've had some really strange stuff over the years like a V6 Vega with 4 speed (a 200 V6 out of 78 Malibu) that just would not quit, or 2 70 Novas (both 2 doors, and the same puke green color). A 67 Chevy short box small window pick up (w/wood floor), and a 69 long box big window pick up (both at the same time), a 74 Chevelle Laguna S3 (w/400), a 70 Chevelle, a 65 Olds delta 88 (land barge):) About 15 VW's of varying years, including a 2 door Fox with 4 speed. Just too many to count. I mean I still have 13 or 14 vehicles here right now. The 2 GM mini vans are being used as parts storage. ;) And that's not even counting the 2 projects I'm working on for others.:squintrun:
Right now my wife's 70 VW Fastback (with fuel injection and AT) is probably the longest kept in the fleet here, as I bought it July 3rd 1990, and it's been gone thru at least once in that time (mid 90's). My normal summer ride is a 65 VW Notchback with a factory sunroof. I bought it September 25th 1999 (or 18 years ago). Needless to say it's not stock, as I built it as a long distance cruiser, which it does quite nicely.:) I just wish it had AC. ;)
