I know people that have put 300K+ on an engine using dino oil and fram filters. Mobil1 is Hondas Genuine supplier for oil, so I only use Mobil1 oil and filters. I'm poor as hell, but I don't mind spending $35 every 5K miles (about 6 times a year)
If you think about it, the average person changes oil 4 times a year, paying $140 a YEAR on oil and filters is not that much. Changing oil regularly is the best thing you can do to keep oil passages clean and keep sludge to a minimum.
Not really... Depending on the coldest temperature your car sees during the year.
First number is the oils viscosity at zero degrees. The lower the number, the thinner the oil. That's good for cold starts where the oil pump can get the thinner oil to bearings faster. So your 10W is thicker than the recommended 5W when cold.
The oils have the same viscosity at engine operating temp, so that shouldn't be an issue.

would it be considered bad if i use 10w-30? I have 161k on the motor..
