So I got the dreaded flashing D4 which mean transmission problem. My car is a 2000 4cyc automatic. Pulled the CEL and got P0780. If I clear the code the car will drive fine for couple miles and D4 will start flashing again, once it starts flashing I notice the car will stay in 2nd gear and only shift to 3rd. Won't go into 1st or 4th. Any tips on which solenoid it might be?

Tranny fluid level is good, looks clean and not burnt. Last drain and refill about 40-50k ago?

I D&F'd my auto every 6k miles, or every other oil change. May or may not have to do with it running strong to 133k miles when it was removed (still good). I'm just amazed when I see people going 2-4 years between D&F's.
My 6spd is supposed to be D&F'd every 40k miles...but after I last changed it at 30k I noticed it was a little smoother.
