Hey guys,

I was recently installing a new head unit in my car which I thought I knew how to do but apparently not..after I connected all of the colored wires to the head unit and turned it on, the head unit didnt turn on. Then after putting my old factory head unit back in, it didnt work either. I think that I shorted the wiring when I turned the new head unit on. Also, the power outlet is now not working either. I first thought maybe it was a fuse, but they all look ok.

If the wiring is shorted, what are my options to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Check the fuse.

Both get power the same way, iirc, you used a harness adapter, right?

Like:

Oem connector --> adapter --> radio connector --> radio

Not ditch it & oem. Crimp connector to hell.

Make sure to check the passenger side fuse panel thats where the fuse for the radio/lighter is, it can easily be overlooked since most cars have one in the driver said and one in the engine bay ours has that extra one

ironically I recently wired my remote turn on wire for my amp to that exact fuse haha
love my factory radio :party52:
