Hey guys. I am purchasing a 98 v6 accord very soon and I need to know what kinda maintenance would I need to do when I purchase the car. I am only knowledgeable with 4 cyl regarding maintenance, but am a little clueless about 6 cyl. Hope you guys with 6 cyl can give me some information.

From top of my head:

Change oil
Drain and refill tranny fluid
Brake fluid & bleed brakes
air filter/cabin filter

Look into timing belt/water pump
Check tire tread and air pressure
Check brake pad and rotor wear
Maybe tranny cooler
Check power steering and coolant fluid levels
And EGR

thanks Chris. I know 4 cyl have distributor housing, spark plugs, and wires, but what about v6?

step 1: dont buy a auto v6 :lawl:

unless your gonna swap it...

I'm well aware of the tranny issues. I'm going to keep it for maybe 2-4 years then I'm going to sell it or give it to my dad.

Lems, I assume you are getting a good deal on the car, but there is nothing newer in a V6 that you have found?
