I have done a couple searches but could not find what I was looking for, I am planning to change my rear turn signals to leds but the ones I have purchased do not come with resistors so what kind of resistor should I order? Secondly where should I mount them? I am sorry about mounting them behind the plastic carpet stuff and it getting so hot it will cause a fire in my trunk.

I'm pretty sure we only need a resistor if you don't change the flasher.

But they just go in parallel with the bulb.

Turn wire-----+-----\
Resistor>.....X...bulb
Turn wire-----+-----/

Ignore the periods :p

I'm wondering where I could mount them safely

be like it is
6ohm 50w per corner

or

3ohm 50w per side

in my 8th gen i mounted one 3ohm per side in the trunk behind the "carpet." i have mine stuck with 3m outdoor tape to metal and they haven't moved or melted the tape in the 7 months i've had them there.
