Brake reservoir cap - is this normal?

I've read that reservoir caps have diaphragms that are supposed to be pushed back in before replacing the cap onto the reservoir after a flush or bleed.

The cap looks like this:

The white plastic piece just slides up and down on the plastic rod that is attached to the cap. I guess this style of cap doesn't need to be 'reset' before reseating on reservoir? Or am I missing something?

Nothing special. It is just a switch. At the bottom of its travel, it completes a circuit which illuminates the brake light.
