I joined 6GA with my 2000 Accord coupe, the first car I learned to drive manual in and the first car I ever modified. After owning the car about two years, I began saving money and got interested in looking for another car. After a storm one night, a large gust of wind and soft earth caused a tree to fall and damage my brother's truck, which opened an opportunity for me to go ahead and buy a new car and give the coupe to my brother as a replacement. (Which as of 3/17 currently has over 240K miles and is still running strong!) After searching a long time, an ad on Craigslist caught my eye. It was a 2002 Nissan Maxima with a 6 speed manual transmission. I did my research and contacted the owner, and came home with it that day. It's my first non-Honda car and the first I've ever bought entirely with my own money. It's a great car, very quick and practical as well, which is why Nissan dubbed them "The Four Door Sports Car"! Enjoy the pics below as I make progress with it.

Those things corner exceptionally well, and such a nice interior. Great car for the money, and an SE at that. Congrats!

I knew the next gen Maxima had VQ35's, but not this gen. Awesome

So basically this is an G35 sedan without the HR motor and a 6-speed. Keep us updated on this

Thanks guys, I'll definitely keep y'all updated on my progress. I love the car, really comfortable and fast as hell too. I call it the four door 350Z haha!

It's actually better than a 350Z! It weighs almost exactly the same as the Z, but will hold twice the passengers, can tow, and is a sleeper on wheels when built properly :head3:

Yeah, I love the sleeper affect to it, you'd never expect a little four door to blow past you on the highway lol. I keep hearing about guys making great power gains from a few bolt ons and mild tuning. Can't wait to get up the money for mods, but gotta do a few maintenance repairs first... :emotions34:
