I was in desperate need of a car so I picked up a 2000 Accord LX with a F23A1 and manual trans. It has a DTC code of P1457 (EVAP Emission Control System Leak Detected-Control Canister System) the temperature and gas gauges do not work and I think that the speedometer and tachometer are not reading out correctly. If the EVAP vent-shut valve shorted out and fried the ECU, could that cause all these problems? I need to get this car fixed so I can get it on the road ASAP, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I finally got a chance to check the speedo and tach against an OBD2 reader, and what I found was: The speedo reads 40mph when I am actually only going 35mph and the tach reads 1000rpm when the actual engine speed is 1500rpm. I'm just disconnecting the evap solenoid for now until I get a replacement, but I don't like driving it without a working temperature gauge. How can i figure out what the problem with my gauges is?
