Re: THE Lighting Review Thread

Brand & model: Xyntec
Price paid and from where: 72 Shipped from Ebay
Pros: Cheap, bright and 2 year warranty.
Cons: need to aim or will blind someone
Final verdict: This kit is just as good as any 200+ HID kit and has a 2 year warranty. Mines broke and got it replaced with in 3days from warranty. and If i need new, i wouldnt mind paying $72 compared to $200

Re: THE Lighting Review Thread

Brand & model: VVME 6000k HID Kit (ebay seller for vvme.net)
Price paid and from where: $70 shipped from their ebay listing
Pros: None !!
Cons: Horrible ballast quality, the kit did not even last a day ! Ballast died on me the same night when i was driving. I also got mismatched bulbs, one is white and one is yellow.
Final verdict: apparently some 6gen member thinks this hid kit is "decent and will satisfy to some extent"... This is BS, the ballast quality in this brand is the worst i have ever seen. The light output is also crappy, even though i got 4300Kelvin which should be the brightest but it is not. In fact my lumincs bulbs were almost as bright as these. Lesson learned never buy from VVME or even any ebay kit. Save your money and get an oem kit like phillips, or a retro. Did I mention their customer service blows ?

Brand & model: Silverstar Ultra Headlamps 9005su/9006 su
Price paid and from where: $60 shipped from ebay
Pros: huge improvement over stock, looks great
Cons: if you're picky- not as bright as HID, but a lot cheaper and easier.
Final verdict: The best headlamp, period.

Thumbs up Re: THE Lighting Review Thread

Brand & Model: DDMtuning 35Watt Slim Ballast 5000k HID Kit
Price Paid and from Where: $39.95 from http://www.ddmtuning.com/hidkihidbuhi.html
Bought it during Thanksgiving Weekend.. It is still only $59.95.
Pros:
- Lifetime Warranty!
- Quite easy install.. even if it's your first time installing.
- Good light output, just got to know how to aim the bulbs to get good dispersal.
- Looks great.
Cons:
- For $40.00.. I can't complain at all!
Final verdict: Would never go back to halogen again. These make great HID kits. People on the BMW forums have been using them so that's what convinced me to buy them, also for the great pricing and lifetime warranty! If you're gonna buy these, prepare to wait quite a while for shipping because it is in high demand now.

Re: THE Lighting Review Thread

Eiko ion blue Holagen bulbs (low beam)
$10 per bulb from a local auto parts store named Campbells
Pros: Love the colors it puts out and how bright they are.
Cons: have to lower headlights because oncomming cars think i have my brights on.

I got these bulbs because I seen them in my friends 92 accord. I have found that the lights put out many diffrent colors depending on how close you are and the angle you look at them. Close up you will see an orange/red. al little fruther back you will see the orange turn to bright green. after that you will see bright blue. If you stand to the side you will see red and as you back up you will see purple then blue. My wife says she can see some yellow in there also but I have yet to see it. I have some pics of it but I could only get a few of the colors to show.

Brand and Model: Onyx Automotive (I think) Dual Halo Projectors
Priced paid and from where: $150 from wooddashexperts.com
Pros: The ONE thing i like about these lights is the halos that blink when i lock or unlock the car...that's IT.
Cons: Everything. I don't like the overall look. I don't want the entire focus of my car to be the headlights. I guess my first car project is bound to have me spending money on things i will end up not liking. Output is horrible. Wooddashexperts.com has horrible customer service.
Final Verdict: I should've joined this site before i ordered them. Hate everything about them. Going to DIY blackhouse the OEM's i took out and ged rid of them ASAP.

Re: THE Lighting Review Thread

Brand & model: Eagle Eye Halo Projector Headlights
Price paid and from where: $190 w/shipping from krazykustomzonline.com
Pros: Looks better than oem, wider output, and HALOS.
Cons: maybe it's just my luck, but they took forever to ship it, then the package was damaged so they had to send another one. Took about a month from the time I ordered them.
As far as the actual lights, I had to use a good amount of force to make them bolt on right.
Final verdict: So far so good. Looks great, but definitely would be better with HID's
I don't recommend ordering from that site.
