Brand & model: Ksport 13" procomp, 8 piston.
Price paid and from where: $1650 shipped from Ksports directly.
Pros: Giving a new meaning to the term "stopping at a dime"

Re: THE Brake Component Review Thread

Brand & model: Powerslot slotted rotors
Price paid and from where: $120 for the front
Pros: Great improvement over stock. Pretty much no brake fade w/ good pads
Cons: Can't turn them / plane them down, so if you manage to warp or score them, its means replacing them.
Final verdict: Personally consider it some of the best money I've ever spent on my car, and will be ordering another set soon

Brand & model: Axxis Ultimate Brake pads (ceramic/metal mix)
Price paid and from where: $80 for front + rear
Pros: Made for a great combo with the slotted rotors, huge improvement in stopping power over stock
Cons: Dusty as hell
Final verdict: While they definitely did their job, it was impossible to keep my wheels clean, and I wouldn't buy them again considering other pads out there that perform well and aren't as dusty.

Re: THE Brake Component Review Thread

Brand & model: R-1 peformance slotted and cross drilled rotors
Price paid and from where:$60 brand new from R-1 performance. My brother in law works for them
Prosoes the job quite good...almost got into an accident last night but thank god for the brakes working
Cons: Not a well known brand name.
Final verdict: The worked fine for me. I will be looking into getting their brake pads and rotors for the rears as well

Re: THE Brake Component Review Thread

Brand & model: Rotora BBK 1 Piece
Price paid and from where: 1200 from excelerate performance
Pros: Looks, stopping power
Cons: No pad options other than rotora
Final verdict: Great stopping power, wonderful aesthetics, could be a little bit bigger at 6Pot, but that would be overkill

Re: THE Brake Component Review Thread

Brand & model: Hawk High Performance Ceramic Pads
Price paid and from where: Came out to about 130 for front and rear pads... don't remember website name.
Pros: Better stopping power, no dust, less fade (they say... I haven't tested it yet)
Cons: Price. Approx 80 for fronts and 60 for rears.
Final verdict: I was about out of brakes, so these were needed. It'll be nice to not have to worry about brake dust all the time too. I was originally trying to get the AEM brake pads from the site, but those are discontinued, so they gave me these instead.

Re: THE Brake Component Review Thread

The Accord:

Rotors: Brembo Blanks
Pads: Hawk Ceramic
Price: About $100 shipped for the fronts
Pros: Noticable improvement in brake fade and power
Cons: They still fade on hard highway braking
Final: Would do them again for the low price

The Galant:

Rotors: Baer 13" Track Kit w/ 4-piston Caliper
Pads: Baer Pads
Price: Around $1,200 I think
Pros: HOLY CRAP!! I can stop on a DIME!!!
Cons: Hard to find pads
Final Verdict: They came with the car and I couldn't be happier!

Re: THE Brake Component Review Thread

Brand & model: KSport 8 Piston Calipers with 13in rotor Big Brake Kit.
Price paid and from where: $1700 something from Option JDM in Toronto, which was ordered from Image in Motion in British Columbia, which special ordered from Ksport directly.
Pros: Massive stopping power, never felt brake fade on the track. Not even with a big heavy 6th gen accord. Also, lots of bling bling behind the wheels.
Cons: Big price tag, but considering what you get it. Its worth it.
Final verdict: Awesome product for what you pay for and what it does. Great for people who track occasionally. If you don't track, then you don't really need all that spotting power.
