LED HID Strip Project

Hay there guys, thought I'd share what I've been doing to my 6th sedan.

Ordered clear lensed headlights from ebay, only 91$ Cnd shipped, took them apart and dremeled out the nesseary pieces for the dual LED strip (One orange, one white). Took 2 hours for the first one, (cut fit cut fit...) and about 20 minutes for the 2nd one! Did in my kitchen in my apartment.. lol hopefully will have a house with garage for the winter

Re: SuperMidget's 2002 SE Sedan debut!

Don't go too crazy with the 'paint under the hood' part.. You don't want it looking like a Little Tikes or Tonka Playground.. do you?

Also, you only have 1 header, since it's a I4 :).

Don't buy those damn eBay projectors. They are trash, I don't care which ones you get TYC or not they are garbage. Output is horrible. Get some high heat paint on that header, it would clean up the bay a ton.

The paint will definately attract attention. I say go totally crazy with it. That would make it original. Do the entire engine bay.

If you do the bay, you should do the entire car like the multi-colored painted panels they had on the limited edition harlequin golfs:

AHAHAHAAA WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?

That engine bay is totally DOPE!

Wow and thanks for all the positive feedback.. lol i find that the paint is VERY fragile, it's already been dinged here and there from my stupidity.. is there any high heat clear coat availble? I ask cuz i haven't seen any in the auto stores around here.

Heres a few more:

Make shift paint booth downstairs: lol

Now this was tricky. It was windy.

I plan to paint the upper portion of the intake manifold blue and the throttle body yellow perhaps.. any input
