Out in the enclosed porch, it's about 30F while outside is hovering around -5F. The porch feels downright warm, relatively speaking!

Pentax K10D, Tamron 90mm macro, f/4. Next time I'll take the tripod out, stop down to f/8, and also take some 1:1 shots. There will be ice tomorrow ;)

Wicked pic! :afro:

Werd. I went from $20 tripod -> $50 quantaray -> the one i have now...

Bogen/Manfrotto w/ Smith-Victor Ballhead... well see how it does, should be leaps and bounds ahead of the quantaray :lawl:

and medium format? :eh: you shoot 120?

im going to work on this type of shot more tomorrow.

the keys:

have the camera parallel to the glass (i didnt...you can tell on the left)
stop down to f/8-ish for sharpness across the plane
tripod
meter off the ice, then maybe bump the shutter up by one setting

so yeah...i didnt do the first 3 today :lawl: so ill take my own advice tomorrow...

ill still using a $10 garage sale tripod :redface2: money doesnt grow on trees and neither do CF tripods :lawl:

the MF lens in pentacon six mount will cover a 35mm frame with 10 degrees of shift. 35mm lenses may only cover about 6 degrees on a crop sensor and less on a 24x36mm frame.

an $80-100 adapter + $100 lens is waaaaaaaay cheaper than any dedicated shift lens :Smoker:
