Doesn't surprise me. $1 billion for all the people in this country who drive older cars, and gone in a week. Lasted longer than I thought it would, haha.

Re: Cash for Clunkers may be no more........already

This is awesome. My dad just gave me a call this morning telling me that he got $3,500 from the cash for clunkers program for trading in his 1991 Pontiac Transport.... used it for an 09 Accord EX-L. I know what I'm gonna be test driving when I get a chance to visit him.

Re: Cash for Clunkers may be no more........already

my buddy was going to do this with his 95 maxima to get an suv for his wife...till the fine print. it doesnt average 18mpg (well...THAT car does, but not according to the EPA)...plus he still has march 08 stickers on it soooooooo...

its not surprising it didnt work out. the government just fails at money management. throw money at a problem...yeah...thatll work just fine

I think the government wasn't planning on it being as successful as it was... they helped sell 200k cars in a ****ing week, that's a ridiculous number.

I was just at a friends house checking out their new Hyundai Sonata they got for trading in their Pontiac Transport
