hose sleeve kit

what exactly are they supposed to do, besides bling factor. do they keep temperatures down, are they like exhaust wraps but for hoses?

also, if i get one of these kits, i would haveto drain the system i'm working right? i.e. radiator hose?

Well, if you get a sleeve kit, I think it just slips over your current hose and is purely cosmetic.... if you get a hose kit (I think they're all silicone) then they are supposed to hold up better than the OEM ones and they look better. You don't need to do a complete drain with hose kits, just enough so it's not pouring out everywhere. hope this helps

They make mylar bradied sleeving for wire looms. They sell it at Parts-Express.

Check out this link below they sell the best kit you can buy and it does not look sloppy like the kits you buy and pepboys etc. http://www.hosetechniques.com/catalog_search.tpl The also sell other stuff etc. I think a black kit would look best or Silver maybe but the problem is the cost of the kits.
