JDM Legends

Cobb Tuning's side-project company is this vintage JDM import/restore/mod shop: JDM Legends. One of their employees maintains a blog:

http://www.jdmlegends.com/blog/

Some of you may find it interesting. I couldn't stop reading it. The author is a Cobb team mechanic and fabricator, and restores vintage imports for JDM Legends. The level of detail he goes into is truly amazing (the WRX cage install, for example).

Very little Honda and zero 6th gen Accords. Mainly Datsun/Nissan and Toyota. <sigh> Now I have to convince my wife that we need to move or build a bigger garage - I want a 68-72 Skyline and a 510.

Man I'd love to. Realistically, an AP2 S2000 is more likely to find its way into my garage. Fun per dollar (around $16-18k in my area) is off the charts.

Seems like Datsun and Toyota made sporty versions of their regular cars, whereas Honda didn't. Instead competing during the 60's-70's with the S600 and S800.

honda was never full on with sports cars. they made cars people would buy and decided to crap out a sports car every once in a while to keep people happy. now i think they need to come up with a new one again to keep us happy. the honda line up right now isn't sporty enough. nissan with the Z. toyota coming with the ft-86. mitsu/subie with their own monsters. honda had the s2000 but the other companies still produce or redisigned theirs, honda stopped. the Si just isn't going to cut it.

Oh to be able travel overseas and pick up some goodies.

That Lexus would have to come home with me as well.

Yeah. Money, storage space, time to enjoy them, anxiety, more money for maint / replacement parts... I'm pretty sure I'll never have a classic JDM machine, all "costs" considered.

Or by the time I might afford one, the world will have run out of oil.
