Power Steering Hose Replacement - V6

This turned out to be a nasty little job. No wonder Autozone and the like do not carry this part. Napa carries a hose for the 4cyl, not the V6.
Anyway, the main pressure line started leaking when my daughter brought the car down from college and I needed the car for a wedding. I thought it would be easy - HAH!

I'm stuck...The flare nut on the new hose isn't threading into the steering rack

If the threads fit, but don't thread, make the front couple smaller with a nice file.

Is your tube free to move at the bottom? Looks like it is slightly misaligned. The threads look good though.
