Car runs sluggish, no power

Hey guys so when i start my car my engine idles rough and shakes like crazy and lacks power when i drive. looks like my engine is misfiring but theres no engine light on. check the air filter and its clean. im thinking that it just needs a major tune-up. i just what to know what else it might be. also if i do need a major tune up what parts should i buy? estimated cost of parts alone?

Edit: forgot to mention this is not on my accord. this is for my 2000 ford focus x3z

Check your water pump. Two of my buddies have had it happen in their focus, both times a water pump going bad.

It could be advantageous to post this on a Focus forum. The typical noises, shakes, and loss of power in them are not the same as an Accord.

yea i know. i just didnt want to join a entire new forum for a car i barely use

Just do it and ask them, we'll most likely not be able to help much

Yeah, the symptoms are EXACTLY the same as the ones you posted too. Look for leaks nearby it too. Seems like I remember a hose coming off it being dry rotted and needing replaced too in one of the situations.
