Last week my car wouldnt start, the gas guage needle was half a inch below E. I unplugged the fuel pump and then plugged it back in. The car started. Tonight i put gas in the car and at the gas station the same exact thing happened. Help anyone?

hirichard hit it sqaure in the head with carburator. The J30 is known for having carburetor problems. In fact, most modern Honda engines are. :eusa_wall:

the gauge is an impedance based setup, so if it went all wonky you probably have a ground issue. Since it went away when you unplugged/replugged the tank harness I would look closely back there. Check for loose pins in the plugs, and refresh the ground for the gauge and pump.

I'd bet you have a loose/poor ground causing both issues.
