the things I did, for the past 1 month

so i decided to buy these 3 paints...

and look what i got!!! engine cover!! yay!!!
got it from www.collegehillshonda.com its $35 for the item but shiping cost like close to $15 so its a bit pricy

took out the engine cover and the sparkplugs covers leaving u with this:

took out the wiring and all the bolts (they all use 10mm) and the valve cover and u got this:

used this link for diy taking off the valve cover
CLICKYHERE!!!

thanks to gnarlycharlie for finding the link!!

and guess what i find? my lx-s is a k24z3 heheheheh...

this is the valve cover stock oem color...

this is primed:

this is painted in the 3rd coats: (I think total i did like 8 coats)

painted the dip stick with the krylon paint:

and BAM!!! final result!!!

to get the wrinkle effect i need to put it on the oven in 200 degree for 2 hrs... and i tried but within 20min my house smells like chemical and my parents yelled at me... i couldn't do the cooking prosses...

i just hope with driving it around it will create the wrinkle effect im looking for...

like this one:

so i will give update with in a week or so... (btw, that f23 vc used the same paint as i did... i hope it looks like that within a week of driving)

" oh before i forget... I didn't change any of the gasket nor the circle ring thingi inside the valve cover, because they are all practically brand new"

the engine cover and spark plug cover... I still am deciding on what color or if i want to paint it or not!!! so we will see about that!!!

I thanks chido for all the helps on the painting vc!!! he the man!!!!

hope that helps!!!

&

so I was sick and tired of the long shifter!!! and decided to do something about it!!!

1. I did the etou tl knob before...

LINK TL KNOB

2. I got the shortshifter kit from throwdown which work on the 6spd and 5spd manuals

LINK!!!

thanks to xGuMB1x aka rene for figuring out that it works for 5spd as well
and
thanks to Taffy for the diy in installing the shortshifter kit!!!
DIY SHORTSHIFTER

3. it was nice at first but its just not low enough for me... so I sold the tl knob to beastlyv6 aka juju and took her 6spd knob...

I found out that the 6-6 knob is weighted just like the tl knob... YAY!!!

and sooo.....

i went to magauto and order me another shfiter and it cost me roughly $45 more or less
(because i didn't want to cut my oem one, i just like the fact that i can return things to stock)

and shop around to muffler shops... and ask how much it cost to cut my shifter rod and weld it back on again!!!

and so i paid $35 to cut and weld and it looks better than I expected!!

and then during install i find these two knobs that are a bit of a pain... they are twins...

so first u gotta snap the white part back a lil, and then twist the black knob and hold it... then u can pull the wire!!!

and so after installing and such... the end result is this!!!

and this was the thing that i wanted to replicate:

pretty close no???

heheheh...

and so... I love how it shift...

the combination of:

1. oem 6-6 weighted knob
2. 6-6 short shifter kit from throwdown
3. cut and weld 2nd oem shifter assembly

price total: for cut and weld and 2nd shifter... under $100 woot woot!!!

so, I took it out to drive... and ITS AMAZING!!!!!!! SOOOOO AMAZZIINNNNGGGGGG!!!!

I FELL IN LOVE WITH MY CAR ALL OVER AGAIN!!! hehehehheeh

so, what u guys think?

and on top of that, i got the exhaust that I've been look for, for a while now!!!

LINK FOR EXHAUST HERE!!!

I'm happy now... LOL...

and next list in order would be:

- p2r down pipe
- progress rsb and end links
- hfp full lip kits or coilover (which ever would fit best for me for that time being)

Nice work, that engine is UGLY!

Not because of anything you have done, I just think the 4cyl doesn't have the symmetrical setup the V6 has and doesn't look as nice.

Like the short shifter setup, looks very clean.

Definately should get some more colour in that engine bay.
