Wow guys, I just purchased an Escort 8500 X50 BLUE. Now this thing rocks my socks ladies and gents. The Blue screen is amazing, and the whole operation of the radar detector is smooth. I also found out its very user friendly, so even the dumbest of dumb people could work this unit.

So far so good, I'll post when it saves my *** ;)

Anyone else have any radar detectors that they have tried out? Post it here to let people know.

So far, I love my Escort and would not choose anything else at this point :D

Yeah, I love my Valentine One, too. I've had it for about 2 years now, and its still the $hit!

I know it says to not mount it above the rearview mirror for laser dection, but I still mounted it there. AZ doesn't really use laser, that and the rest of my car is tinted now, oh well. it works great.

I don't get the pop protection. does it jam the pop radar, cause if they are trying to nail you with a pop radar, its kind of tough to defend aginst a sneak attack.

well, the pop radar is like a trigger you pull when aimed directly at a car. basicly, ths purpose of it is to warn you when someone infront of you gets popped, haha, so if youre the only person on the road, and you get popped, and then see the cop, and you were speeding, have fun with that, haha. its not the most effective. ive been saved by lazer a few times too, but again, with both of those, it has to be done before you get to it for the radar detector to be effective.

those jammer signals no longer are very affective. i was talking to a cop, a real one, and he explained that not only do they have anti jammers, they also have radar dectector dectectors. so they can tell if you have one in your car.

but the only states where a dector is illegal is VA, and DC.
