Well, stock size is 6.5 which is a good size for mid range speakers.
As far as depth, I wouldn't go to dep cause of the window

I have to use a MDF spacer for my Boston Acoustics components.

if you dont mess with the door at all, 1 15/16" (or is it 1 7/8"?)
if you do take out the plastic basket and make a spacer youll have a little less than 3" max.
