I had my eu700s for about a week before my brother broke the cone on the right sub by throwing his bag in my trunk. well 2 weeks later i get a brand new 7kv2 (if you dont know thats the new model of the eu700 which went out of production a month or two ago). so, i had them wired at 2 ohms before, and now i get this in the mail and the new subs box says 4 ohm, and the magnet says 4 ohm. also, the new model is a tiny bit different (larger print on the cone and different shape of the rubber outerring) which would look wierd being right next to a different model sub. my main question is is this new sub able to be wired at 2 ohms even though it only says 4 ohm on the sub?

that is a dual voice coil 4 ohm sub.

if the other one was dual voice coil 2 ohms, then you are screwed!

what's the voice coil config for the other sub, then i can help :)

they are both dual 2 vcs, the old sub said it could be wired at 2 ohms or 4 i beleive, and the new one only says 4 and the 2 ohm boc is blank and the 4 ohm box is checked

if you have (1) DVC 2 ohm sub and (1) DVC 4 ohm sub then you are screwed.

but you can't have a DVC sub that will wire to 2 AND/OR 4 ohms!!!!!

maybe this will help you:

or buy a DMM if you don't even know the coil config's of your subs.

i hope you now realize why many people strongly dislike eD.

ok and now after seeing that i realize that its not accurate because i have a 2 channel amp, and thats coming from a single. the only difference is my setup has a different wire for each sub. and i know it was wired at 2 ohms and that they are dual voice coil subs, for whoever said dual voice coil subs cannot be wired at 2 ohms.

No matter what you do..even with a 2 channel amp, the subs will not see the same amount of power. You should have clarified with them that the one which broke was a dual 2 ohm sub.. :bash:

you are a very confused person.

you can wire a sub to each channel of a 2 ch amp, or you can bridge the channels.

if you bridge them each channel will see half the load.

(1) dvc 2 ohm sub can be wired to 1 ohm (parallel) or 4 ohms (series)
(1) dvc 4 ohm sub can be wired to 2 ohms (parallel) or 8 ohms (series)

(2) dvc 2 ohm subs can be wired to 0.5 ohms, 2 ohms or 8 ohms
(2) dvc 4 ohm subs can be wired to 1 ohm, 4 ohms or 16 ohms

tell me what amp you have, then i should be able to help more :)
