My 98 accord has an intermittent start problem with no crank, sometimes the problem can be solved by pressing the gear release and sliding through all gears back to park. Seems to be no rhyme or reason for when it will start?

what engine? What transmission?

You said "sometimes" is resolved by going through all the gears. What other ways, if any, can it be resolved?

You said it won't crank. So, will the starter simply not engage and the engine not crank? Or will the starter engage and the engine not fire up?

Do you hear the fuel pump priming? Has the car ever shut off and immediately turned back on while driving?

if taking it out of park and putting it back in fixes the issue then you may have an issue with your neutral safety switch or the wiring going to it
