I have a viper alarm with remote start on it, but only sometimes will it actually start. I hit the button, the lights flash, and it tries to start but its like it doesn't hold the ignition long enough. I can't tell if its my ignition or my alternator or something. I had the same thing trying to start in my old escort but thats cause I had to much pull on the battery/alternator from my stereo

make sure all ur pins are down. meaning the sensors that tell your alarm everything is closed.. My hood pin fell off and my car would start and die right away, i finally realsed the pin was gone, so the autostart thought the hood was "open" which would kill the ignition.

best thing to do is to take it back to your installer.

most likely the crank time is not at correct setting.

you can do this yourself, pm me.

It's not the hardest thing out there to switch from tach sense to voltage sense.

I think the preset crank time is .4 seconds.

Yeah Deffinently your Tach sensing. If its compustar, its going to take probably a good hour to do it lol, becuase I think you have to actually redue all the steps of setting everything up. Mine took 4 hours at my local shop since they have to reset everything up, becuase my starter would actually run too long.

that takes all the fun out of figuring out how to do it yourself.....that would be the same as taking it to the place that put it in.....having the manufacturer doing it for you and telling you.....
