THE Tire Review Thread

We really should have started this a long time ago.

FORMAT

Brand & model & size - Simple enough, list the tire brand, and designation (all-season, high performance, snow, etc).
Price paid, Mileage - What you paid, how many miles you put on it.
Pros - Things you liked about the tire
Cons - Things you didn't like about the tire
Final verdict - Would you buy the tire again? Your overall thoughts, etc.

Example in the next post

Please bold the first line with the tire brand, model, & size.

Fusion HRI 195/65-15 All season
-Paid about $53 a tire, have about 15k miles on them so far
-Cheap price, great treadwear, good in rain, decent cornering, good feedback
-Not the stiffest sidewall, noticeably louder than OEM, tread design is fugly. When they do fail in corners the front can slide out.

-Would definitely buy them again, great all-season tire for the price & looks like I will get 40k out of them at least

Wanli 225/45-17 High performance Forget the model designation
-Came with a wheel & tire bundle, which was pretty cheap. Expect to pay $70/tire
-Decent in the rain
-Loud, bad cornering, heavy, very vulnerable to camber wear, bad treadwear.

-I would never buy any Wanli tire ever again.

Falken ZIEX 512 All Season bought 195/65/15
-Paid $70 CDN per tire, I've had them on for 20000 km or so

Pros - cheap, very good OEM replacement tire, but much better than OEM. Works ok in the rain, doesn't hydroplane too easily. Also passable in snow, as long as you drive carefully. Tread pattern is attractive looking compared to OEM.

Cons - There's also a bit more road noise over OEM, and they feel squirmy during turns sometimes. For what they are and how much I paid, I'm perfectly happy with them and have no gripes whatsoever.

Final verdict - I'd buy it again if I needed something OEM-like to replace my tires and I was on a budget. Otherwise, I'd rather spend more money and get something better.

Kumho Ecsta ASX All Seasons 225/45/18

Paid - Can't remember

Mileage - I have had them for a little over 2 years now

Pros - Excellent handling in wet and dry. Good sidewall. Good looking tred

Cons - Road noise over OEM but then again it is low profile.

Final verdict - I plan on buying them again. An excellent all around tire.

Goodyear Assurance Tripletred 205/60/16 All Season
-Paid around $110/tire, driven for about 7000 mi.

Pro - Much better tire than what was previously on my car (dont remember what), amazing wet and dry traction, havent had a chance to try in snow/ice, have not hydroplaned yet even on roads that i used to do so on. very good handling even on my sky high accord an estimated 80,000mi. tread life.

Con - More road noise but i dont mind, kind of pricey $$, its a directional tire, thats about it.

Final Verdict - Would definitely buy again, its a great performing and nice looking tire

Brand & model & size - Hankook RS2, 205/50/15

Price paid, Mileage - Whatever Edgeracing.com is charging, less than 10K miles.

Pros - Great handling in wet, even in snow! I put them on early spring and we got some late snow and I actually got pretty decent traction compared to my all seasons.

Cons - Low treadwear. Its like 280 treadwear but I didn't expect them to last that long anyways. Better than the Kuhmo's I used to have.

Final verdict - Would def buy again.
